In our October 2020 Newsletter, we launched and introduced our new OPU Probeholder! We also gave insight into the Horse’s knee-joint workshop organised by Pferdeklinik Barkhof in Sottrum, Germany. Read more below.

As part of our master plan to make our products more efficient, simple and effective for conducting your daily practices, we are excited to introduce yet another new and innovative ultrasound solutions product!

Product Repairs, and what “NOT” to do 

First and foremost, we want to thank all of you who have supported us throughout the years—that’s why we offer our support in return. 

From the initial stage of our company, one of the most crucial factors for building the business was developing durable and made of the highest quality material. 

We have always set our standard through high product quality, and we continue to maintain that. Therefore, our products are made to last and rarely damage by themselves. If there are any damages, there usually is an explanation for it. 

In such cases, we can help by first determining what the damages are through speaking over the phone or images through WhatsApp or e-mail. We listen. And if the product comes with a warranty, we can guide you with instructions from our side, and only then might you be able to repair it yourself with parts we can send.

If all fails, we will send a loan replacement to fix the damaged item or send a new one. 

We strongly advise against dismantling a product before speaking with us or reporting it first. 

The reason is, our products are sometimes complicated yet straightforward, and you may not know what the problem is. It could be tiny and fixable by you or something more complicated. That is why we strongly recommend that you report it first.

The rest we will do, happily. 

Events Updates

As COVID-19 continues to erupt our lives, we saw many of the annual events and workshops cancelled this year. 

AAEP and BEVA, two of the most significant annual events, have also been cancelled. However, there are a minor few. Others have switched to virtual online.

Workshop on horse’s knee-joint

Date: 14 November 2020

Location: Pferdeklinik Barkhof, Sottrum, Germany

This 1-day workshop will focus on the anatomy and physiology of the knee joint, clinical and radiological examination, sonographic examination.

KNMVD Actualiseringscursus Paard
 Date: 29 Oct &  25 Nov  2020
 Location:  Utrecht, Zwolle & Lent

This course will be focused on the theme: “Around and on the horse in 2020”. They will take place at 3 locations throughout the Netherlands.

Advanced Course for Equine Vets in Portugal
Date: 3, 4, 5 & 6 December 2020
Location: Evora, Portugal

This course will feature Diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for injuries of the elbow, carpus, metacarpus and fetlock regions. Veterinarians will have an 8-hour contact during the four days. The workshop will be conducted by  Jairo Jaramillo Cardenas.

In this newsletter, we announced the celebration of our 12,5 years, how far we’ve come and how we celebrated during the covid19 pandemic. We also launched a free-shipping campaign promotion.

HOW WE GOT STARTED

Like many successful businesses, Podoblock started in a garage on January 1, 2008, twelve and a half years ago, by Alex Berends and Nico Gorter.

Working with horses for more than 25 years, they became aware of the challenges and setbacks faced by Equine Vets. That’s when they conceived designing and developing efficient, innovative, and practical products to simplify the daily practices of vets around the world. And they have, they created the first signature Podoblock – which was a complete hit! 

Now 12,5 years later, we think it’s time to celebrate with a growing Podoblock family, a new location, and a branch (PodoblockUSA) with broader product categories!

Why 12,5? We skipped our 10th anniversary out of respect with the passing away of Nico around that time. Hence, a 12,5-year celebration! 
And we are certainly happy to celebrate this with you!

At our month-end (May 2020) Newsletter, we introduced our new and improved JiXtr portable generator stand. We also introduced our new marketing colleague – Rousanna Baird.

She is originally from Guyana (formerly British Guiana) and now lives in the Netherlands for 5-years.  She is married and mother to an 11-month old baby girl and lives on a farm with cows, horses, chickens, cats and dogs.  Rousanna graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor in Marketing and Communication and has several years of experience in the Online- and Offline marketing field. Due to COVID19, Rousanna, like most people, had to work from home during her first weeks in the company. However, soon she will be at the office three days a week. So far, we have been pleased with the work she’s been doing.  This year, there are some mature upcoming marketing projects, and Rousanna will inform you about them on behalf of the Podoblock team through the newsletter, Linked In, and other social media channels. Stay tuned.

Following the recent developments regarding the Corona / COVID-19 virus, we would like to update you personally. To continue our business, we have taken various precautions as prescribed by the Dutch government. Of course, we also keep a close eye on government regulations and precautions around the world.

At Podoblock we will continue our operation for as long as this is allowed by the Dutch government. We will do everything in our power to ensure that all commitments and deliveries are met and services are rendered, as you are used to from us.

Redboot: the equine limb saver

The revolutionary REDBOOT is new in Podoblock’s product line. Since the introduction in December 2019, we have already sold several REDBOOTS with very positive results. The Argentinian-born equine orthopaedic boots, braces, and limb prosthetics to correct flexural and angular limb deformities in foals and to manage any condition where limb immobilisation is required, such as fractures and amputations, tendon and ligament injuries and wounds in horses and foals. The REDBOOT is available in our webshop.

16th Veterinary Sport Horse Congress : JUMPING AMSTERDAM On 24 and 25 of January 2020, one of the major events for international sport horse vets from all around the globe will take place in Amsterdam: JUMPING AMSTERDAM. The 16th edition offers a varied programme presented by international speakers. And Podoblock will be there as well! During the day you’ll find us at stand 17. So come in and have a look around. For more information on the event, click here.  PS: Friday night, the 24th, our annual night out with the entire staff will take place in the “Strodorp”, so please join us and meet the complete Podoblock team!   Musculo-Skeletal and Sports Injuries Course  Strengthen Concepts and improve diagnostics: the Advanced Course for musculoskeletal and Sports Injuries of the Horse will occur from 6 to 9 of February in Évola, Portugal. The course will have a practical approach. It aims to strengthen concepts and create a solid basis for the effective diagnosis of locomotor pathologies by dissection of anatomical parts and visualising images and videos.
