ISELP intends to present this module as a HYBRID Module, meaning the event will be available for limited attendance in person, as well as live-streamed from 16-18 September 2021.
As a global and annual sponsor of ISELP, Podoblock will be present with a booth to showcase our innovative products for all equine veterinarians.
We hope to see you there!
About the Event
The event will focus on the Fetlock module that uses clinical case presentations and demonstrations to explore some of the most common conditions of the Fetlock, Tendon, PSL, & Carpus that practitioners deal with in everyday practice.
Conditions reviewed include fetlock diseases, digital sheath tenosynovitis; digital flexor tendinopathies; suspensory apparatus conditions; and carpal joint and canal conditions. Special emphasis is placed on the rational corrective shoeing of the different conditions using kinesitherapy shoes.
On the 6th of June, 2021, BEVA (British Equine Veterinary Association) will be hosting a course based on the fundamentals of radiography & ultrasound.
As an annual sponsor, Podoblock will be supplying a number of our x-ray protection products to be used during the course.
About the Course
During the day, the course will focus on a series of discussions on skills deemed essential in radiography and ultrasound for any veterinary professional tending to horses in general practice.
Pre-course online learning will allow for emphasis on the day to be placed on practical skills. Practical teaching will cover the basics of first opinion orthopaedic radiography, taking good radiographs, and interpreting them. The exact format will be provided for an ultrasound of the distal limb in the field.
There will also be theory and discussion on when advanced imaging is indicated, which should give practitioners the confidence to refer appropriately for modalities such as MRI and CT.
Organiser & Venue
The course is organised by Sarah Boys Smith MA VetMB CertES(Orth) DipECVS Dip ACVSMR MRCVS, Suffolk, and will be held at the British Racing School Newmarket CB8 7NU, United Kingdom.
